Year comes to a close; everything breaks..

I didn't mention this yesterday. I broke my racket. I was stroking and making a smash when it slipped out of my hands. It felt funny after that, but I didn't realise until 2 sets later when I saw the crack. Then yesterday I played Jackie at singles and found the shuttle falling very short of where it's supposed to go. When I took a look at my racket, it had broken at where it cracked the day before. The funny thing is, the string hadn't broken yet! And I thought it would, a long time ago. It's actually served me for a year so I shan't complain. Firman was saying "sorry to hear that". Well it's easy (not to mention speculative!) to say that "had I gone for the makan session with the Malaysians, it wouldn't have happened". But it doesn't work this way, and I replied, "shit happens". Sometimes you just have to take everything on board. Life doesn't bend backwards for you. Accept the realities, however harsh they may come. And keep working at it!

It might snow yet. When I walked back alone last night, it was well cold and foggy. It normally isn't.

I got a mention of thanks in Khai's blog! Feeling proud of myself, yet a bit sad though.. never mind.. But I think it works both ways. As much as she drew support from me, so did I just from speaking to her. I hope she is well. As for myself, I don't give a damn. There's too many things to do to think about unhappy stuff. Besides, it's going to be the new year!!!

To quote the Leicester Uni Chinese Society email, I wish you all "every success and
happiness in this cock year!"

No cock-ups now...

an excerpt from Jewel's Hands.. oh what sweet melody..
If I could tell the world just one thing
it would be that we're all o.k.
And not to worry
cause worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these

I won't be made useless
I won't be idled with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
for light does the darkness most fear

My hands are small, I know,
but they're not yours they are my own
but they're not yours they are my own
and I am never broken

Poverty stole your golden shoes
but it didn't steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
but I knew it wasn't ever after

We'll fight, not out of spite
for someone must stand up for what's right
cause where there's a man who has no voice
there our's shall go singing

My hands are small, I know,
but they're not yours they are my own
but they're not yours they are my own
and I am never broken

In the end only kindness matters
In the end only kindness matters

  • Hey CheeSeng...

it's always a two way traffic, Sweetie. THat's what friends are for, right?

    I'm good. Getting by.

I've yet to write an entire post on what this event has been for me. MAybe you can read it, yah? :)

And you calling me has been the best things these days, albeit I wasn't able to speak to you the day I was on the NEL.. you assured me that there are people out there who are so far away who loves and cares for me. And that matters a lot to me because I prioritise those people who love me- like YOU!

So, cheer up and smile for me.
I'll be just as cheerful as my friends are :)

Send my regards to Mister Sun in Leicester University.

    Love,
    Khairunie... runie ;P
