QQR
Qual: quality---(1) and
Quan: quantity--- (2)
of study, as well as the difficulty of the exam, defined as
d(ex) = d(t)/d(x)---(3), where t is the toughness this year and x is the average paper toughness of the last 3 years.
Here we obtain the following relation:
P(ex) = Qual/Quan * d(t)/d(x)
As can be observed, the Quality/Quantity Ratio(QQR) is very important and if it is >1 we refer to the Standard of Study (SOS) as "efficient". Otherwise if QQR<1, the SOS is "inefficient". Threshold value is when QQR=1, when the student is just doing well enough.
Note that QQR can also be imaginary (when either Qual or Quan is a complex number) and this normally results in P(ex) <40% which is a failure.
The equation gives no solutions for the case when both Qual and Quan are imaginary, but it has been hypothesised that this is because the student will obtain a P(ex) that tends to zero.
