Away

I will be off to Bergen/Oslo/Amsterdam for over the long weekend (and a couple of days). Time to do some fjord-hopping and soak in days with 18 hours of sunlight.... Knock back a few Dutch beers, pay through my nose for Norwegian McDonald's, check out the famous red-light district in Holland.

Once upon a time an unknown Norwegian striker was signed by Alex Ferguson for Man Utd and went on to become a legendary hero in the 1999 Champions League final. His name? Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Carrying his country's flag in this year's Champions League final was John Arne Riise (and Clarence Seedorf for Holland). AC Milan overcame Liverpool rather fortuitously but to be fair both sides never really looked like scoring, and as the match wore on Liverpool was becoming the more unfashionable side.... 2-1 to Milan, thanks to better composure in the final third of the pitch.
